We are Hiring at Jewish Hospital, Nursing Education

Location: 200 Abraham Flexner Way, Louisville, KY 40202

Shift Options: Full Time, First

 

About the Unit 

CVIC/OHRR is a 17-bed Open Heart Recovery & Cardiothoracic ICU that serves patients who undergo such cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures as CABG, valve replacement/repair, heart transplantation, and lung transplantation. Patients include those who require re-do sternotomy, as well as mini-sternotomy, aortic aneurysm repair, and CABG/valve combination procedures. Nurses care for patients who require a variety of mechanical circulatory support devices, as well as ECMO.

Job Summary

Responsible for promoting quality nursing care, that is based on current scientific knowledge, functions as an expert practitioner, educator, researcher, consultant, and change agent.  Collaborates with others to ensure effective and efficient discharge planning on select patients.  Collaborates as needed with Department Director in support of achievement of overall department goals.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required for some units
  • Minimum of 3 years as a Registered nurse with CV and ICU experience
  • Proficiency in both verbal and written communication
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university
