About the Position:
The Director of Curriculum leads the development, assessment, and revision of the Williamsburg Learning Curriculum to ensure academic excellence, alignment with Colorado and Utah standards, and optimal student and parent UX. This role will work closely with the Chief Academics Officer, Program Leaders, and Course Instructors to update and create new courses.
Responsibilities
1) Create a Curriculum Development Roadmap
In collaboration with the CAO and other company leaders, develop a one- and three-year curriculum development roadmap.
2) Lead and Project Manage The Development of New Williamsburg Curriculum Courses
Deliver high-quality courses, ensuring they:
Provide transformational learning experiences for students
Meet and are aligned to applicable state standards
Follow WL best practices
Ensure a similar structure and feel to other WL courses
3) Lead and Project Manage Curriculum Updates to Existing Curriculum
Provide leadership and feedback on the ongoing development, improvement, and evaluation of curriculum.
Support and communicate with Program Leaders to:
Oversee developments and updates to The Williamsburg Curriculum within their programs.
Oversee development and updates to Canvas courses within their programs and ensure they align with Williamsburg Academic Standards.
Ensure alignment with State Required Testing as required by school partners.
4) Lead Professional Development on Curriculum
Assist the CAO, Instructional Coach, and Program Leaders with Professional Development related to Curriculum.
5) Represent WL in Demonstrating and Reviewing Curriculum with Internal and External Stakeholders
Assist the CAO & COO in answering questions and presenting the curriculum to new hires, School Boards, State Committees, and other external and internal stakeholders.
Minimum QualificationsHold a Master’s Degree in Curriculum Development, Instructional Design, or a related field, or at least three years of experience in curriculum development.Demonstrate an understanding of generative AI and its applications in education.Demonstrate proven experience in collaborating with faculty/instructors on curriculum projects.Demonstrate proven experience in leading, managing, and holding accountable a team.
Preferred QualificationsShow proven project management experience and/or project management certification.Experience building courses within Canvas and/or working with IXL, Star Assessments, online math programs, AP programs, and/or The Williamsburg Curriculum.
