Job Description

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of law while providing crucial support to a busy attorney. You’ll be instrumental in streamlining operations, managing client communications, and contributing to case preparations. The position allows for professional growth in a fast-paced legal environment, offering exposure to diverse legal matters and the chance to develop your skills in legal document preparation, case management, and client relations.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the attorney’s calendar, including court dates and client appointments
  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as divorce petitions and case summaries
  • Communicate with clients, sending reminders and updates on their cases
  • Complete and submit fee vouchers accurately and promptly
  • Perform legal research to support ongoing cases
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining case files and legal documents
  • Handle phone inquiries and provide basic information to clients
  • Support the attorney in preparing for court appearances and client meetings
  • Utilize legal software and tools to enhance practice efficiency

Requirements
  • Legal education, paralegal certification, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of legal procedures, especially in family, personal injury, and criminal law
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Proficiency in Google Calendar and basic office software
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and adhering to legal ethics
  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard business hours if needed
  • Comfortable with remote work and potential phone-based client interactions
