Backend Engineer - Lunchgate team

We at Holycode are currently seeking an ambitious and experienced Backend Engineer to work full-time on the Swiss table reservation system Foratable.

Foratable, run and developed by the Swiss company Lunchgate AG, is a revolutionary reservation system that changes the way restaurants manage, market, and sell their capacity to enhance guest experiences.  As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will join an international team of software engineers to create the next-generation platform, implement new features, and enhance the product. Responsibilities:

• Build new features with the product team
• Maintain and improve existing functionality
• Write unit tests and functional tests for added functionality
• Support the design and implementation of architectural principles
• Closely interact with product managers and software, test automation, and DevOps engineers

Requirements and skills:

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering
• Good knowledge about data structures, algorithms and data types
• Experience with service oriented architectures (SOA) and event sourcing 
• Experience with Java (Spring)
• Experience in modern PHP (8.3) and Symfony is a plus
• Experience with AWS is a plus
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub actions) is a plus
• Knowledge of functional programming paradigm; experience with a language like Haskell, Scala or Rust is a plus
• Proficient in both written and spoken English
