About the role
As an Intermediate Product Designer on our Authentication team, you'll immerse yourself in the dynamic world of authentication and security. You'll be at the forefront of designing intuitive UI/UX solutions that not only enhance our platform but also redefine industry standards.
In this role, you'll tackle critical projects like:
- Token Management: Design seamless interfaces for creating, rotating, and managing tokens, ensuring users can effortlessly maintain security without disruption.
- Passkeys Implementation: Pioneer a new passwordless login experience based on FIDO standards, making authentication more secure and user-friendly.
- Credentials Inventory: Help expand the single pane of glass view for our largest customers to view, manage and audit their credentials across their GitLab organization
- Service Accounts UI: Develop user-friendly functionality for managing service accounts, enhancing usability and efficiency.
You'll thrive in a nimble, collaborative environment where your ideas can lead to radical improvements in our UI/UX. Your ability to think outside the box will be crucial as you propose solutions that challenge the status quo and elevate the user experience. You'll design enterprise-level solutions that are both powerful for large customers and easy to configure and maintain.
Being part of the Authentication team means you’ll need to stay connected with various product areas. You'll need to be aware of overlapping workflows and understand how different components fit together to deliver a seamless, holistic experience for our users.
Your impact will extend beyond design, as you'll play a key role in our mission to be the one-stop platform for all things DevSecOps. By providing intuitive UIs and workflows, you'll enable entire product R&D teams to collaborate effectively within a single application.
You’ll collaborate closely with security experts, engineers, and other designers within the Authentication team. If you’re passionate about creating impactful designs, have experience with enterprise products, and are eager to tackle complex challenges with creativity and expertise, this role is perfect for you, we’d love to have you on board.

About the team
Product Design supports the teams at GitLab by becoming experts in our assigned Stage Group, educating ourselves about the entire product, and staying engaged with user and business goals. We partner closely with our stable counterparts in Product Management and Development. As Product Designers, we are the owners of design judgment. We start with understanding our user, their goals, and needs and extrapolating that into a problem to solve, and then always consider what the best experience for the user would be.
How GitLab will support you
Please note that we welcome interest from candidates with varying levels of experience; many successful candidates do not meet every single requirement. Additionally, studies have shown that people from underrepresented groups are less likely to apply to a job unless they meet every single qualification.
