Business Support Apprentice

Location: Washington

Salary: 16yrs – 17yrs: £7.56ph 40 hours per week

Over 18yrs: £10.50ph – 42.5 hours per week

Over 21yrs: £11.44ph - 42.5 hours per week

As a Mears Apprentice you will be paid above the national minimum wage and be paid for your normal working hours plus time to do your college work with the opportunity to get real life experiences such as working in people’s homes, getting involved in community projects and improving people’s lives by being customer focused.

This apprenticeship will take around 18 months to complete and result in gaining your NVQ level 3 in customer service. 

About the role: 

As a Business Support Apprentice, you will be developing within the role guided by your mentor. The role will be based within our customer service team working from our branch inWashington. One day a week is allocated to complete your college coursework and the option to work from home when completing this is available.

You will not be required to attend college; all courses are online, and assessments are submitted via a secure portal.

You will be involved in a wide range of activities including data analyst, using this information to support both complaints and compliments from the client, tenants, and residents. Attending meetings and site visits and arranging social value events with local schools and community groups. 

Role Criteria: 

  • GCSE pass grade in both Math's and English (Grade 4 and above or grade C and above)
  • Great Communication skills. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office, Excel, outlook, Word etc.  

Application Process:

  • To be considered for this apprenticeship all applicants must submit their CV and a Cover Letter detailing why you are interested in the role and why you would like to be an apprentice.
  • We will contact you to confirm if you have been selected for the next round, which would either be an invitation to an assessment centre or individual interviews
  • Please note that you will be required to complete a basic Math & English test during the selection process, which are similar to the assessments you would need to take in order to join the college.
  • All our roles require candidates to have the right to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship. Candidates should be aware that all our roles are subject to relevant DBS/Security checks.
