Essential Functions of the job:
This position supports the execution of the Medical Affairs plan in the field for the designated therapeutic area. The MSL/Sr MSL (Medical Science Liaison) is the vital contact with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL), Health Care Providers (HCP) and other key stakeholders for BeiGene. The MSL/Sr MSL will identify scientific opportunities to partner with external stakeholders and generate insights to enhance BeiGene’s Medical Affairs (MA) and clinical development plans. The MSL/Sr MSL is required to combine their clinical expertise with strong business acumen and presentation skills to serve as the key channel of information for KOLs via scientific exchange.
Additional representative responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:
- Execute the Field Engagement Plan and support business objectives, such as Advisory board meetings, national/regional educational meetings, scientific conferences, KOL development programs, etc., and ensure its successful implementation.
- Implement scientific communication strategy including key publications from BeiGene trials and key messages in therapeutic area and BeiGene brands to support business strategies and life cycle management.
- Assist with execution of the MA plan to develop integrated KOL list, ensure sufficient KOL coverage by field visits & educational meetings, scientific projects, speaker training, etc. and ensure proper tracking of these activities
- Work with KOLs in the relevant field to understand current clinical practice, challenges and areas of unmet need. Share insights with the wider organization to inform and guide strategy as needed
- Actively participate in cross functional meetings and share external customers’ insights with internal stakeholders
- Work closely with other members of the BeiGene team to establish and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders for and on behalf of BeiGene in all relevant areas to promote the Company's reputation, dedication to patients, and expertise in these areas.
- Support the Global Clinical Operations team in assessing trials, identifying trial sites & new investigators, managing trials and ensuring timely delivery of our clinical trial program in Australia and New Zealand
- Ensure compliance with country directives and ensure all MA activities are conducted with the utmost integrity.
Qualification Required:
Experience / Qualifications:
- M.D. physician, pharmacy degree, life science degree with significant experience in all aspects of medical affairs; and professional knowledge and experience working with Haematologists/Oncologists
- Relevant pharmaceutical or related industry experience in medical affairs with significant time in Haematology/Oncology.
- Proven peer relationships with and exposure to external scientific and clinical experts and Key Opinion Leaders (KOL); demonstrated ability to proactively engage internal and external leaders and serve as a medical expert for relevant therapeutic area.
- Understanding of applicable rules, regulations and actions of relevant regulatory bodies in Australian and New Zealand.
- Proven ability to translate and appropriately align commercial and scientific goals and objectives and to interact productively with both commercial and scientific colleagues.
- Highest ethical standards in corporate medical governance.
- Experience delivering compelling and persuasive communications on complex topics to KOLs
- Successful track record of cross-business/cross-functional collaboration and solution building.
- Strong interpersonal skills to allow for successful interaction with peers across the organization to achieve corporate goals.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- English proficiency a must.
- Ability to travel interstate and internationally as required
