Translator (English-Slovak)

CALL FOR TRANSLATORS 

ENGLISH-SLOVAK 

IREX (International Research & Exchanges Board) is seeking quotes from qualified respondents to support the translation of a 1) curriculum on digital engagement and critical thinking and a 2) parents and caregivers’ guide on the same topic from English to Slovak.  

The anticipated award will be a fixed price contract or consulting agreement. IREX reserves the right to withdrawal this request for proposal at any time up to the award of the contract.  

Responsibilities: 

• Provide accurate, detailed, and timely written translation of the curriculum and parents/caregivers guide from English to Slovak. 

• Translate other curricular and training materials as agreed upon with IREX (e.g., presentation slides, activity handouts, etc.).  

• Incorporate edits, clarifications, and corrections to translations as needed. 

We expect the consultant to translate up to 150 pages, where one page equals roughly 2000 characters, spaces included.

• Minimum of 2 professional references.

Late submissions will only be considered if in the best interests of the project, and then at IREX’s sole discretion.  All proposals submitted must be valid for a period of not less than sixty (60) calendar days from the closing date indicated above.  

Evaluation Criteria 

The criteria are listed in descending order starting with the most important factors to be evaluated. 

• Technical quality based on past experiences and references (40%) 

• Price Competitiveness (30%) 

• Capacity, flexibility, and availability (20%) 

• Familiarity with digital engagement and/or media literacy concepts (10%).  

Evaluation and ranking of proposals will be done by IREX. IREX may at its discretion ask for additional information or perform site visits. 

Renewal 

IREX reserves the right, based on availability of funding and vendor performance, to enter into subsequent contractual agreements with the winning vendor for a period of up to three years without issuing a new RFP.
