Job Description

The Accounts Receivable Team Leader ensures timely as well as accurate billing, cash posting and drives customer collections. The Accounts Receivable Team Lead drives fiscal month/quarterly targets aligned with local and corporate strategies. In addition, this role is responsible for reporting, analysis, account audits, reconciliation, process improvement, and drives collection targets that align with local and corporate reporting. The AR Team Lead prepares and delivers presentations, partners with business, highlights key insights, and translates complex matters into actionable next steps in partnership with the Accounts Receivable Manager. The role we are offering you:

  • Leads Accounts Receivable Specialist team of up to 5+ professionals

  • Oversees Accounts Receivable (AR) portfolio of $150M+

  • Reviews credit terms

  • Plans and leads team of collectors to NCWC, Cashflow and DSO targets

  • Fosters strong relationships with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service to resolve delinquencies and address credit risk

  • Collaborates with the business to identify root cause and achieve financial targets

  • Resolves customer accounts by examining payment plans and payment history to determine if collection efforts required on delinquent accounts

  • Negotiates with customers to resolve issues and collect timely payments per contract terms

  • Establishes and measures quarterly targets while meeting deadlines

  • Contributes to business process troubleshooting, maintenance and enhancement initiatives (Gemini, Oracle, Salesforce) where appropriate

  • Any other tasks or duties as agreed with Accounts Receivable Manager

Our ideal candidate has:

  • University degree in accounting, finance or related field required

  • ARS (Accounts Receivable Specialist) certification preferred

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, finance or related field required

  • In depth knowledge of accounting receivable best practices, reporting and data analysis

  • Proven collection, billing, and cash applications skills and experience

  • Excellent analytical, conceptual thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Able to thrive in an often fast paced and deadline-oriented global business requiring development and refinement of processes and procedures

  • Essential knowledge dealing with third party collections agency

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Applications required (Excel, Word, Power Point)

  • Knowledge and experience in Oracle preferred

  • Experience working directly with various levels of leadership

  • Ability to develop reporting and effectively communicate results to Finance Leadership

  • Proven ability to analyze accounts receivable performance and implement measures to maximize financial performance

  • Able to work flexible hours (may include weekends and/or public holidays)
