About this Position

Job Overview:
We are looking for an Associate Infrastructure Engineer with a primary focus on monitoring and proactive remediation of our cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the continuous health, performance, and reliability of our cloud systems by actively monitoring, detecting, and addressing issues before they impact services. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about cloud technology, enjoys problem-solving, and is eager to grow their skills in infrastructure monitoring, alert management, and automated remediation. As an Associate Infrastructure Engineer focused on monitoring and proactive remediation, you will be at the forefront of maintaining system health, detecting potential issues, and implementing automated solutions to support the stability and scalability of our cloud infrastructure. This role will give you hands-on experience in cloud operations and performance optimization, with opportunities to collaborate across teams and grow your expertise in cloud infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactive Monitoring: Utilize cloud-native and third-party monitoring tools to maintain oversight of cloud infrastructure health, including resource utilization, system performance, and network latency.
- Alert Management & Escalation: Configure, manage, and fine-tune alerting thresholds for various infrastructure components. Assess the severity of incidents and escalate issues as needed to ensure timely resolution.
- Issue Detection & Analysis: Identify and analyze anomalies or emerging issues within the cloud environment to prevent potential outages or performance degradation.
- Automated Remediation: Develop and deploy scripts or automated workflows to quickly remediate known infrastructure issues. Work towards reducing manual intervention and enhancing automated responses for common infrastructure problems.
- Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Support incident response activities, working with senior engineers to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously analyze system performance data, identifying areas for optimization and implementing proactive measures to prevent bottlenecks and improve scalability.
- Capacity Monitoring & Planning: Monitor infrastructure usage patterns, proactively identifying capacity constraints, and recommending solutions to maintain optimal performance and availability.
- Collaborative Problem Solving: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including DevOps and application teams, to resolve issues, identify improvement areas, and implement solutions that enhance cloud reliability.
- Documentation & Reporting: Document monitoring configurations, troubleshooting steps, and remediation processes. Generate regular reports on infrastructure performance, incidents, and resolution times for review and analysis.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with new tools, best practices, and emerging technologies in cloud monitoring, automated remediation, and performance management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or Prometheus.
- Basic knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with an interest in proactively maintaining system reliability.
