Job Description
The Logistics Engineer at Brink’s Inc. conducts detailed data analysis and continuous improvement efforts utilizing lean methodologies and tools supported by external and internal applications to find both strategic and tactical opportunities within the Brinks network of cash-in-transit and cash management.
Cash-in-Transit involves picking up and delivery of valuables from ATMs, financial institutions and retail locations and taking these valuables to various designated locations.
Cash management consists of verifying, reconciling, processing, forecasting, storing, and total management of customer cash and coin in a seamless and transparent manner for the customer.
Responsibilities
- Define existing operational processes, identify gaps and risks and build out recommendations that drive process improvements and operational efficiency specifically to the transportation and processing of currency / cash
- Develop strategic analyses and value propositions based upon in-depth data analysis using data from our data warehouse and production environments
- Quantify the cost to serve of new and existing customers in support of current sales and pricing
- Interface with operations and customer base to facilitate problem resolution and improvement opportunities
- Application of traditional supply chain concepts to secure transportation and cash management services for the Federal Reserve, financial institutions and retail business across the US
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from an institution in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or related major. Will consider equivalent years of experience or combination of education and experience in lieu of degree
- 1 to 5 years of experience in Third Party Logistics (3PL), warehousing or similar transportation industry
- Track record of building and delivering presentations, and results that summarizes quantitative analysis driven recommendations to leadership team
- Experience with the application and use of networking modeling and route optimization tools (e.g., OmniTracs RoadNet)
- Experience in using quantitative tools to analyze business data using MS Office, PowerBI / Tableau or other data analytic tools
- Well versed in Microsoft office suite of products with advanced experience in Excel and Access.
- Demonstrate project management skills, prioritization and ability to perform work
- Ability to travel ~ 10%-20% within the US as required for project support
