Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision of the Instructors, including coaching, professional development, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Train and motivate Instructors, to ensure consistency of support across the team.
  • Utilize CRM and Learning Resource platforms to supervise students’ access and engagement with Writing Center support.
  • Scrutinize and interpret data from multiple sources utilizing a comprehensive knowledge of the department and university to measure processes for decision making purposes.
  • Maintain reporting on key metrics to ensure visibility of student access and engagement with academic support.
  • Proactively identify potential technical and process issues blocking student access to academic support.
  • Provide support to students with concerns or issues with Writing Center student experience.
  • Respond with urgency to team needs and exhibit excellent judgment to deliver results.
  • Demonstrate the WGU cultural beliefs and leadership principles in all aspects of service to students, employees, and partners of WGU. Influence through direct and indirect supervision.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in the areas of higher education and non-traditional students.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising work processes to impact student outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis for the purpose of improving work processes.
  • Demonstrated strong technical writing and excellent communication skills, particularly phone, email, and video/web cam.
  • Ability to problem solve and to think critically and creatively.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Proficiency with Office 365 applications, live event tools, CRM software, and PowerBi.
  • Proficient and comfortable with new technologies and modes of service delivery.
  • Ability to alter working hours to accommodate the needs of students and Instructors.
  • Organization and efficiency, data analysis, communication, problem solving, team building.
  • Time management, trustworthiness, self-awareness, interpersonal skills, results oriented.

Job Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a related field and all applicable licenses or certifications.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience
  • ⁠Network+ or CCNA certification required
  • 1-2 years of Networking experience
  • Demonstrated subject matter expert in assigned content or practice area(s).
  • Up to 10% travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Experience with Change Management practices.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:
 

Pay Range: $65,400.00 - $107,900.00
