Description:
The PACU Multi-skilled Technician will be cross trained as a Surgical Services Customer Service Assistant.
Position Purpose:
The Multi-Skilled Technician (MST), under the direction of a Registered Nurse, will provide patient care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. This position is key to providing a best-in-class patient experience and plays a vital role in the care of our top priority – our patients.
The Customer Service Assistant (CSA) serves as a liaison between patients, families, and clinical staff in an atmosphere
sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. The CSA functions in the spirit of teamwork, is accountable for teamwork and communication within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the organization.
What you will do:
- Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, including: bathing/skin care (I & II), grooming, and eating.
- Keep assigned patient rooms stocked, cleaned, and orderly
- Obtain vital signs, including: height, weight, blood glucose levels, and I&O
- Perform EKG and phlebotomy as delegated by Staff RN
- Document patient data accurately and completely
- All other duties as assigned
- Acts as liaison between family and clinical staff
- Directs people to appropriate destination in a tactful and professional manner
- Provides support for patients before treatment and at discharge as directed by charge nurse
- or leadership
- Assists with transporting patients into and out of Center/ Department as necessary
- Effectively utilizes computer systems appropriate to area
- Practices proper identification procedures
- Understands and responds appropriately to emergency broadcast within the hospital/department.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High school graduate required
- Effective Communication Skills
- Experience in dealing with customer service

- Demonstrates priority setting, organizational skills and the ability to remain calm under
- stressful situations
