Trimble’s Owner and Public Sector provides leading Asset Lifecycle Management Solutions that allow asset owners to plan, design, build, operate and maintain assets across federal, state, local government and private organizations and the communities they serve.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Looking for a seasoned sales executive to lead and direct the sales organization for the Owner and Public Sector. You will develop and execute the go-to-market strategy, manage key customer relationships, and achieve sales targets. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a proven track record in revenue management, a deep understanding of the technology industry and government and private markets. This role will report to SVP, Owner and Public sector.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver on Revenue: Create and execute comprehensive revenue generation strategies aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives, ensuring consistent revenue growth and profitability.
Sales Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team, setting clear goals and objectives, and providing deal guidance, coaching, and support to drive performance.
Business and Partner Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and alliances to expand the company's market reach, system of record penetration and expansion and revenue streams. Foster relationships with key clients, strategic partners, and industry influencers with government, public and private markets to drive growth.
Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the marketing team to develop effective marketing campaigns, product positioning strategies, and demand generation initiatives to drive revenue growth and increase market share.
Revenue Forecasting and Reporting: Develop and maintain accurate revenue forecasting models, providing regular insights and analysis to the executive team. Identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities to guide decision-making.
Sales Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve the sales process, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. Leverage CRM and sales enablement tools and teams drive productivity and visibility across the sales organization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments, including product management, finance, operations, and customer success, to align strategies and drive coordinated efforts towards revenue goals.
Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with industry and government trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to identify new revenue opportunities and anticipate market shifts.
Leadership and Team Development: Build and lead a high-performing sales team fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation. Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to nurture talent and promote career growth.
PREFERRED SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 10 years in sales with at least 5 years in a senior sales leadership role.
Experience with selling software as a service, preferably with experience selling to state, local, federal agencies and private markets
Knowledge of geospatial mapping and GIS software a plus
Experience in converting businesses from perpetual to subscription
Experience in working in organizations with indirect sales channels
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving revenue targets and business growth.
Experience developing and implementing go-to-market strategies for new products or solutions.
Strong presenter, negotiator and communicator with the ability to present in industry forums, build and foster relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and partners.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with the ability to translate insights into actionable revenue growth plans.
Excellent leadership and people management abilities, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
In-depth understanding of sales and marketing principles, methodologies, and best practices. Challenger preferred
Familiarity with CRM and sales enablement tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and revenue forecasting models.
Exceptional problem-solving skills, adaptability, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
