Job Description

The District Sales Manager for our decorative colors business is responsible for managing the organizational structure of the district sales team, ensuring the achievement of sales forecasts within gross margin targets. This role involves strategic planning, team development, and execution of operational policies to drive business growth and maintain strong relationships with key accounts.

Salary range: $100,000 - $200,000.  Company vehicle provided.  

  • Sales Forecasting & Budgeting: Recommend sales forecasts, discount targets, and budget expenditures. Monitor deviations and implement corrective actions to meet sales and profit goals.
  • Policy & Strategy Implementation: Implement operational policies and strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Business Analysis: Analyze district performance and provide recommendations to Regional Director and VP to align with sales goals.
  • Team Leadership: Select, develop, and motivate Sales Representatives to maximize productivity, morale, and potential.
  • Sales Travel: Schedule and conduct regular travel with the sales team to achieve developmental goals.
  • Territory Management: Align sales territories to optimize market coverage.
  • Account Development: Establish and nurture key and new account relationships to drive sales growth.
  • Market Positioning: Direct the sales team to achieve a strong product presence in specifications.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Work with the sales team to develop quotes, presentations, and profitability analyses for new business opportunities.
  • Capital Budget Management: Collaborate with regional management to optimize capital expenditure and equipment utilization/maintenance within the region.
  • Industry Participation: Ensure active district involvement in local trade organizations and associations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Proven track record in sales management with a strong background in the construction industry.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a sales team toward organizational and goal-based success.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on building and maintaining relationships.
