About The Role:  

Join our team as a Visual Merchandiser - Hardgoods, where you'll play a key role in driving profitable in-store sales and upholding brand standards. Workplace Arrangements:

This role will follow a hybrid remote/onsite schedule. Applicants for this role can expect to work on-site from our Ottawa Head Office, on Walkley Road 1-2 days bi-weekly.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Develops and communicates merchandising plans for Hardgoods departments intended to drive profitable in-store sales and deliver on brand standards

  • Deliver monthly key item planning sheets (MKIPs) to increase sales and profits by merchandising Key Items in ‘best spots’

  • Design departmental layouts and fixture plans for Hardgoods intended to support the company strategy, financial objectives and brand standards.

  • Coordinates Merchandising Post Mortems for Hardgoods area aimed to identify wins, challenges and opportunities of the previous season

  • Review and test fixtures which help to support and complement fiscal priorities in Hardgoods area

  • Provide store and field teams with up-to-date merchandise training tools and reference information related to Hardgoods

  • Be a Giant Tiger advocate and community leader

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum High School Diploma

  • Minimum 3 years of retail experience

  • Relevant work experience and knowledge of retail business process

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, and work independently 

  • High attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and trouble-shooting skills

  • Ability to communicate virtually on a regular basis, and participate in calls via MS Teams.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
