Overview:

Intelligent Waves is growing rapidly and has an outstanding new opportunity for a Sr. DevOps Engineer to work on an important technical program for a major DoD organization and the position is located in Reston, Virginia.  This contract was initially awarded to us in 2006 and has continued to grow over several recompeted awards.

Location: This Sr. DevOps Engineer position is based in Reston, VA

Security Clearance: Must be a United States Citizen and hold a current TS-SCI security clearance with DOD.

Responsibilities:

As a platform engineer on our team, you'll play a crucial role in translating customer requirements and future goals into innovative solutions that support a mission-critical defense IT system. Your leadership will be instrumental in transforming the way our defense client leverages technology, from integrating advanced solutions to modernizing legacy systems. Reaching this level in your career means you'll have the opportunity to mentor the next generation of developers, guiding them to become tomorrow's solutions architects. As a technical leader, you'll shape the digital solutions landscape and identify new opportunities for capabilities that drive the mission forward.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Experience developing custom applications and supporting them in a production environment
  • 5+ years of experience building and supporting DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
  • 3+ years of experience with containerization, building images and orchestrating deployments in Kubernetes
  • 2+ years of experience managing tools deployed with Helm using ArgoCD or Flux and writing custom Helm charts
  • 2+ years of experience with automation tools (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code environments, including activities around the automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, or monitoring and testing, such as continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
  • Knowledge of container networking, monitoring, and storage solutions
  • Knowledge of container security technologies with experience evaluating and mitigating or resolving vulnerability findings

 

Desired:

 

  • Experience with the full life cycle of machine learning development and deployment, including gathering requirements, identifying data, preparing data, and building, validating, and using deployable predictive models with the usage having tangible results
  • Experience developing in Java or Python
  • Experience with Prometheus/Grafana and/or ElasticSearch/Kibana and FluentD
  • Experience with design, deployment, and management of Cloud environments, including AWS or Azure
  • Experience with using or migrating continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipeline solutions or tools, including Jenkins, Git, or TeamCity
  • Experience with system integration using a variety of protocols, including JSON, REST, and XML
  • Experience with scripting in Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby and leveraging JSON, YAML, or XML for configuration
  • Knowledge of cloud and virtualization-based technologies, including Docker, Azure, AWS, or VMware
  • Knowledge of Linux or UNIX administration and automation
  • Knowledge of foundational system administration principles
  • Knowledge of and experience with classified environment processes and protocols
  • Kubernetes certification
