Job description

F&G is looking to hire a Sr. Software Engineer

The Sr. Software Engineer position will code, test, and document software solutions and perform tests to validate the code.  This role will write more progressively complex code and work to independently solve problems and fix technical issues.  This role will perform application security remediation and impact analysis.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, and document software solutions that are high performing and intuitive, adhering to F&G’s software development methodologies, frameworks, standards, and security requirements
  • Write progressively more complex code within applications and integrating across application systems
  • Assist with the development of relational database models for software solutions
  • Perform unit, regression, security, and load tests to validate the readiness of internally and externally developed code for production as required
  • Perform application security remediation in collaboration with Security team
  • Perform impact analysis for interface/system changes affecting the applications environment
  • Work closely with business teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Collaborate with team members and business partners to solve problems and fix technical issues
  • Independently develops estimates for project and maintenance work
  • Support custom or 3rd-party solutions and their integrations
  • Perform application monitoring and on-call support
  • Implement architecture and solutions
  • Design and develop code to support existing and future deployments
  • Design and execute technical aspects of function
  • Collaborate directly with teammates and business partners to build technical solutions that solve problems and are reusable, scalable, fast, and maintainable
  • Independently solve problems and fix technical issues

 

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or MIS or similar focus area, or equivalent combination of education or experience
  • 4-7 years of hands-on technical experience designing and building web application and integrations.
  • Experience with SDLC Methodologies like Agile, Waterfall, etc.
  • Experience writing complex code, developing in .Net Standard and Core, Entity Framework, C#, ASP.NET MVC, iQuery, Angular, CSS/Bootstrap or similar skillset
  • Experience developing in UI Control libraries, Kendo UI and Telerik or similar toolset
  • Experience developing web services and integrations using SOAP Web Services and REST APIs
  • Experience designing and developing in SQL server, TSQL, Stored Procedure, UDF or similar.
  • Cloud Certifications preferred in AWS or Azure
  • Background working within Financial or Insurance IT industries preferred
  • Proven ability to work on a diverse team, both virtual and offshore teams

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with secure development practices and knowledge of OWASP Top Ten
  • Experience with API management platforms such as MuleSoft, Azure API Management, AWS API Gateway, or Apigee
  • Experience supporting production batch cycle
  • Experience within a Financial Services/Insurer’s IT Organization
