ABOUT THE ROLE

This 100% remote role requires a combination of hands on operational expertise and strategic planning skills to ensure seamless execution and long term success. The position focuses on overseeing key functions in finance, administration, and logistics in the North American market. 

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient and effective financial operations of the company for US and Canada. This includes managing financial processes, supporting administrative excellence, and streamlining logistics to align with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will act as a critical link between the regional team and corporate leadership, driving operational efficiency while contributing to the company’s strategic objectives.

This is a high impact position suited for a proactive professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast paced environment and has a passion for building robust financial and operational frameworks to support sustainable growth.

Primary responsibilities

  • Build a strong and competent regional finance organization. Setup internal finance procedures in compliance with the regional regulations and Company’s global policies
  • Maintain a full set of accounts, including monthly closing, financial planning and analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, management reporting as well as ad-hoc projects and requests
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with local statutory regulations and accounting standards
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and funding requirements to ensure business sustainability and report cash flow to the HQ
  • Liaise with the bank and related financial and non-financial institutions on credit facilities and investment tools where needed
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, including tax filings and audits. Involvement in business quotations as well as cost controlling
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to guide business decision-making
  • Generate financial data, compile and submit reports, analyze industry trends and maintain the financial health of the regional organization
  • Together with global and regional leadership, create strategic business plans based on the analysis of the Company’s status and financial forecasts. Provide insights about spending trends, cost-saving initiatives, margin opportunities
  • Develop metrics for driving business performance relative to strategic priorities and minimizing risk
  • Perform the accounting process of the regional organization
  • Perform budgeting and forecasting for the business
  • Strengthen internal financial controls and process improvement
  • 5% travel as needed to New Jersey, USA or Singapore

EXPERIENCE

  • Strong understanding of accounting principals for both US and Canada (tax laws, payroll, etc.) 
  • Degree in Finance or equivalent relevant experience 
  • Minimum of 5 years in finance related roles
  • Advanced proficiency with computer systems and finance software
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking skills, coupled with a high sense of responsibility
  • Exceptional organizational abilities, problem-solving aptitude, and effective communication skills
  • Based in Calgary, Canada, or within a reasonable commuting distance
