Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Systems & Software, the QA Engineer will work as part of the Infrastructure Systems & Software (ISS) team within the Network Services (NS) division of Internet2.
Essential job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- In partnership with Internet2 colleagues and Internet2’s member community, this position works to analyze, design, implement, and maintain testing plans and specific testing scenarios for software products and services delivered by the ISS team, with the ultimate goal of improving and maintaining the overall quality of the team’s service portfolio.
- This position focuses primarily on quality analysis (“QA”) engineering, combining that expertise with general knowledge of software development and network engineering.
- This is a fully remote position, requiring some travel and occasional community interaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a QA engineering capacity.
- Strong customer service skills, including the ability to effectively communicate and work with a diverse set of technical and non-technical colleagues and community members.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment, and continuously develop knowledge and skills related to the position.
- Ability to clearly define problems and use appropriate methods to determine and implement solutions.
- Broad understanding of the software development lifecycle, with knowledge of software development practice and technology, including source code control, automated testing, continuous integration, and issue tracking tools.
Preferred Skills:
Three or more years of professional experience in a QA engineering capacity.
Industry experience in academic, research-focused projects, organizations or institutions.
Experience performing QA analysis on front-end (Node, VueJS, Vite) and back-end (Python) software products.
Experience with cloud architecture concepts and practices, with knowledge of cloud-based service design and implementation tools and techniques.

Salary Range / Pay Grade
$97,600 to $146,400 (I-4)
Starting pay is typically from the minimum up to the midpoint of the grade range, and varies based on experience.
