The AASHTOWare Project Senior Developer (EAS LCS) - NC Department of Information Technology - Transportation - is a junior specialist level resource with specialized knowledge and experience in a specific technology.
***The candidate will need to use their own equipment from home to remote into the worksite (PC set up in the organization).
It's expected that the Technical Specialist will be available 8 hours during standard business hours, 8AM - 6PM M-F local time. Preference will be given to candidates living in North Carolina.
This is technical and analytical work in designing, developing, implementing and supporting AASHTOWare Project (AWP) for the NCDOT. This role works with business analysts and other technical staff to deliver required functionality for AWP Preconstruction and CRL modules to the NCDOT business customers in an agile environment. It is expected that this position will be needed for the next year or two. This is technical work with AWP and includes a wide range of activities related to implementation and support including system administration, report writing, automated testing, configuration and interface development. This individual will work directly for the NCDIT-Transportation Letting and Compliance Systems (LCS) manager. It is critical this position be filled as soon as possible in order for the LCS IT team to maintain the current level of support for these applications. It's expected that the Technical Specialist will be available 8 hours during standard business hours, 8AM - 6PM M-F local time. Preference will be given to candidates living in North Carolina.
• Demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of programming and analysis work and to work independently
• Knowledge of SQL,C#, .NET, python, powershell, command line and other standard languages used in web application development;
• Knowledge of best practices in coding and security
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to clearly explain technical processes to team members.
• Ability to review and translate business user specifications to configure COTS applications to produce desired results;
• Experience inworking with state DOT customers.
• Ability to execute technical work using best practices, including GIT for source code maintenance.
• Understand AASHTOWare project (AWP) out of the box tools & processes
• Ability to evaluate and analyze AWP with requirements and make recommendations, based on technical expertise.
• Technical expertise in specific AWP functions and DOT business processes.
• Understanding of the AWP data model and how to use the Interactive Data Model tool for development of solutions.
• Ability to recommend development of and demonstrate best use of appropriate testing protocols;
• Knowledge of automated testing to be used when performing application upgrades.
