The Role 

 

Versaterm Public Safety is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cloud Deployment & Automation Specialist to join our innovative and fast-paced Cloud team. The ideal candidate will have experience with AWS and deploying AWS services using automation and Infrastructure as code with tools such as shell scripting, Packer, Terraform, Terragrunt, and Ansible. 

 

What You’ll Do 

 

Cloud Deployment and Automation: 

  • Automate cloud deployment processes using tools such as Packer, Terraform, Terragrunt, and Ansible. 
  • Create and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) to ensure consistent and repeatable deployments. 
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and updates. 
  • Utilize shell scripting to automate routine tasks and enhance operational efficiency. 
  • Assist with regular maintenance and patching operations as required on production client-facing applications. 

 

Cloud Support & Monitoring: 

  • Monitor system availability and capacity utilization to ensure high availability and meet quality of service objectives. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across development, testing, and production cloud environments. 
  • Provide input into enterprise capacity planning and support proof-of-concept design and testing activities. 
  • Provide ongoing support to customers as needed. 
  • Be available for on-call after hours support or maintenance on an occasional basis. 

 

Documentation & Collaboration: 

  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation and support procedures. 
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineers, Architects, and other IT teams to address cloud infrastructure design and architectural issues. 
  • Contribute to the development of change requests, white papers, proposals, and other technical documentation. 

 

 

 

 

What You Bring 

 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • Proven experience in AWS services and cloud infrastructure solutions. 

 

Technical Skills: 

  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Terragrunt. 
  • Experience with cloud automation tools like Packer, Ansible, and shell scripting. 
  • Familiarity with other cloud providers such as Azure is a plus. 
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional is a plus 

 

Soft Skills: 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
