Infrastructure Engineer (M365 Exchange & Network Specialist)

3 month position with possible extension. Remote mostly but once in a while trip to office, tri state area ideally.

Job Overview: 

We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Engineer with in-depth expertise in Microsoft 365 (M365) Exchange and strong knowledge of networking principles. This role is responsible for the maintenance, support, and optimization of our organization's Exchange environment, as well as network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of M365 administration experience and networking skills to ensure the seamless operation of communication systems and network stability. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• M365 Administration: 

• Manage and maintain Microsoft 365 Exchange Online environments, including email administration, security configurations, and mailbox management. Addressing License assignment and maintenance 

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to M365 services such as Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams. 

• Provide tier 2/3 technical support to resolve escalated infrastructure issues, exchange requests and M365 permission requests 

• Provide regular reports on the health of the Exchange and network systems to management. 

• Network Infrastructure: 

• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any connectivity issues across the organization's sites. 

• Ensure high availability, redundancy, and security of the network through the implementation of policies, such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems. 

• Support remote workers with secure access to network resources. 

• Security & Compliance: 

• Implement and manage security policies, ensuring adherence to industry standards and company compliance requirements. 

• Regularly review and update network and system security protocols. 

• Work closely with the security team to ensure infrastructure resilience against cyber threats. 

Qualifications: 

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). 

• Certifications(Prefferred): Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or similar. 

• Experience: 

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 Exchange administration. 

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewall management. 

• Proficiency with networking hardware (Cisco, Juniper, or similar). 

• Experience with PowerShell scripting for automating tasks within the M365 environment. 

• Familiarity with security best practices for both cloud services and on-premises network environments. 

Skills: 

• Expertise in managing large-scale M365 environments with a focus on Exchange. 

• Deep understanding of networking concepts and protocols. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with hybrid AD environments. 

• Familiarity with cloud security frameworks and Azure AD. 

• Experience with network monitoring tools like SolarWinds or PRTG.
