JOB MISSION: 

As the Facility and Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of facility maintenance, health, and safety across the EMEA retail network. You will ensure that all premises are maintained in optimal condition, safety standards are upheld, and compliance with regulatory requirements is achieved. Your mission includes driving strategic initiatives to promote safety, prevent workplace accidents, and ensure the highest standards of operational efficiency across the retail fleet  

 

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead and collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver the facility and health and safety mission across all EMEA retail locations, ensuring consistent standards and practices. 

  • Project Oversight: Direct and manage the planning, coordination, and execution of installations in new stores and refurbishments, in partnership with the store development team. 

  • Vendor and Contract Management: Oversee all maintenance contracts across retail stores, fostering strong relationships with suppliers to ensure service quality and cost efficiency. 

  • Facilities Inspections: Lead regular inspections across all premises to proactively identify and address needs for repairs, renovations, or upgrades. 

  • Cost Optimisation: Review and monitor facility-related consumptions, implementing cost reduction strategies while ensuring safety and efficiency. 

  • Facility Operations: Manage and optimise additional facility operations, such as waste disposal, building security, and energy efficiency initiatives. 

  • Financial Responsibility: Take ownership of cost forecasting, budget management, and P&L lines related to facilities and health and safety. 

  • EH&S Compliance: Identify and ensure adherence to all relevant environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) laws and regulations across company operations. 

  • Policy Implementation: Develop, implement, and monitor EH&S policies and procedures, tailored to regional and country-specific requirements. 

  • Audits and Assessments: Conduct and oversee EH&S facility assessments, implementing corrective actions to maintain compliance with both legal requirements and company standards. 

  • Regulatory Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact with EH&S regulatory agencies, managing communications and report submissions as required. 

  • Incident Response and Investigation: Lead and coordinate responses to EH&S emergencies and incidents, conducting thorough investigations to determine root causes and implement proactive solutions. 

  • Training and Education: Design and deliver comprehensive EH&S training programs in collaboration with HR, fostering a culture of safety and compliance across all retail sites. 

  • Sustainability Initiatives: Ensure that all premises meet or exceed energy efficiency standards, driving sustainability initiatives in line with company goals. 

  • Metrics and Reporting: Maintain and analyse metrics to effectively monitor, report, and enhance compliance and safety performance across the EMEA region. 

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS: 

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is desirable. 

  • Extensive experience of manufacturing environments, leading EH&S programs and ergonomic programs 

  • Strong coordination, organisation, and liaison skills to manage many assignments at various sites. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and capable of accurately assessing needs. 

  • Clear and effective oral and written communication skills. 

  • High degree of skill in negotiations and persuasion.   

  • Ability and commitment to being discreet, tactful, timely, and operating judiciously when addressing internal and external customer needs. 

  • Demonstrate leadership skills within a consensus building culture.   

  • Have effective negotiation and analytical skills to interact with vendors, employees, and customers.   

  • Diplomatic interpersonal skills are required to effectively relate to customers at all levels. 

  • Must have experience developing a positive H&S culture within a similar environment. 

  • Maintain a hands-on approach, as well as having a strategic mind-set. 

  • A problem-solver with the ability to work on their own initiative. 

  • NEBOSH Diploma 

  • CMIOSH membership is preferred. 

  • Regular travel may be required across our locations. 

  • Ability to design/deliver associate training program.
