The Compliance Reporting and Audit Specialist will transform data into insights that will help drive the business forward. This role will work as part of the Risk team to assist in the execution of audits, evaluate risks, test controls, and review processes related to Fraud & Non-Fraud operations, department procedures, and compliance with regulatory guidelines, Visa and MasterCard rules, and company policies. Collaborating with key partners across the Risk Org, as well as maximizing resources enterprise-wide to identify objectives, and expand and deliver business intelligence solutions, that will provide data-driven insights that influence business strategy and support operational and talent needs, while improving the end-user experience. Responsible for identifying and using multiple data sources, BI, and analytics solutions. Guide data strategy across multiple touch points, centralize, build, and run dashboards, reports, and data models in an interactive and somewhat standardized format.

Role Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leaders across the Risk Org to identify business priorities for which insights are critical to Regulatory and Industry compliance; find opportunities in fraud and non-fraud departments; Lead, design, develop, and implement analytic strategies.
  • Serve as an expert liaison between various Velera Business Units by providing strategic leadership support and consultation to key change management and critical initiatives.
  • Design, build, and implement an innovative reporting strategy to significantly improve the Risk enterprise view of performance.
  • Identify emerging trends and evaluate/recommend tools and technologies that will contribute to the ongoing growth of data needs.
  • Lead the architecture, design, development, and maintenance of master data, including rationalization and management of data across the full lifecycle.
  • Led identification, development, and execution of compliance analytics initiatives to enable business decisions; Partner with applicable collaborators to ensure insights translate to strategies and tactical actions that achieve financial goals and operational efficiency across the organization.
  • Lead creation and execution of consistent reporting, forecasting, and diagnostic analyses of business issues.
  • Provide thought leadership in the design of methods and selection of data set(s) to improve data-driven insights for internal/external users.
  • Connect and transform data from multiple systems and platforms into useful analysis, and forecasts that support business needs.
  • Identify compliance process improvements across the Risk Org to ensure process documentation and workflows are aligned with operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Continuous improvement by Maintaining open communication with management and partnering with Risk Managers to define action plans for deficiencies identified.

Role Requirements

Education

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Architecture, or a similar field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Masters in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business or an advanced degree in quantitative analysis preferred.

Experience

  • Three (3) years of experience working in data analysis and statistical modeling or professional experience in a data-driven environment required.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a role generating data insights and recommendations is required. Three (3) years of technical knowledge on data architecture and data integration required.
  • Two (2) years experience working in credit and debit card fraud/non-fraud disputes required.
  • Experience with leading or reviewing the work of other employees preferred.

  • Expert level computer skills on MS Office including Microsoft Word processing, presentation PowerPoint, excel spreadsheets, Visio flowcharts, accounting software, and databases
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and compile detailed reports; experience with data
  • analytics software and building queries
  • Strong understanding of financial services, systems, operational, and/or technology controls
  • Ability to work autonomously and make independent decisions to meet deliverables with minimal oversight
  • Must have a working knowledge of Reg E & Z and Industry Rules
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written formats, including good presentation and report-writing skills
  • Willingness to continue to learn, grow, and hone your risk management and audit expertise by participating in ongoing training, including possibly pursuing certifications, as necessary, and monitoring changes to applicable guidance and regulations related to corporate initiatives and industry standards
  • Ability to establish relationships and rapport with all levels of personnel, including executive and other levels of management, company employees, vendors, clients, and members
  • Adds to team results by welcoming new and different work requirements; exploring new opportunities to make valuable contributions to the organization; helping others accomplish related job results as and where needed
  • Strong data visualization skills including the ability to translate multi-dimensional data into clear and concise storytelling that provides actionable insights
  • Project management and time-management skills, balancing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines, under pressure
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of materials handled

Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
