This role is responsible for leading the BD team supporting the Air Combat Test and Training (ACTT) portfolio to drive business growth. This leader will develop and direct the strategy and capture efforts to win new business opportunities, both domestically and internationally. This position reports directly into the BD leader for Strategic Solutions within the Mission Systems Strategic Business Unit.
What You Will Do
Responsibility for achieving and growing an annual orders pipeline in excess of $1.0B across the next 5 years
Directs all business development activities and ensures robust execution of Pursuit to Order Capture (POC) processes in the Collins Management System (CMS). This includes at a minimum: capture strategies, gate reviews, win strategies, competitive intelligence, price to win, customer relationship management, proposal development
Responsible for prioritization, planning, and execution of New Business Investment (or discretionary) budgets related to the Air Combat Test and Training portfolio
Leads a mid-size BD team to successfully achieve ACTT business development objectives; including employee development/mentoring on all aspects of the business development function
Participates as a key leader in the triad (VSL, Eng, BD) for the ACTT / STS organization
Provides strategic leadership for customer relationship management for current programs in ACTT
Leads senior level engagements across external and internal customer sets
Leads government relations or congressional efforts for the ACTT portfolio
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret Security Clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Quick and highly developed critical thinking skills to enable problem assessment and solution development across multiple domains and customer groups
Expert knowledge in all functional aspects of business development
Proven leadership across multiple echelons of organizations in both direct and indirect applications
Detailed understanding and experience with Pursuit Order Capture (POC) processes for pursuits greater than $50M
Ability to travel approx. 25% (both domestic and international)
Qualifications We Prefer
Candidates should have a strong understanding and experience of defense acquisition across the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and international customers including requirements generation, the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) processes
Candidate should have a strong background in defense aviation training, specifically Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (ACMI) simulation and training requirements and concepts of operation
Candidates should have a strong understanding defense objectives and concepts for – Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training, including current capabilities, gaps, and desired future state

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
