NeoGenomics is looking for a Lead, Billing Reimbursement who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This is a remote position for a Monday - Friday day shift.

Position Summary:

The Lead, Billing Reimbursement, under minimal supervision, assists management in daily oversight and direction of billing operations and staff. Assists with establishing work procedures and processes that support the company and departmental standards, procedures and strategic directives. Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department or employee concerns.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads, trains, coordinates and reviews the team workflow and system functions
  • Collaborates with billing management to develop and monitor billing productivity standards
  • Assists management with creating and maintaining a high-quality work environment so team members are motivated to perform at their highest level
  • Identifies and resolves billing issues and customer complaints in a timely manner
  • Ensures team has appropriate training and other resources to perform their duties
  • Researches and compiles data necessary and communicates findings to billing management
  • Responds to and resolves team members billing questions and issues
  • Develops and monitors QA/QC practices including providing feedback to team members
  • Maintains and contributes to month-end objectives and department metrics
  • Analyzes AR for trends and resolution in addition to providing management reporting on AR status
  • Provides management with team member statistical and performance status including QA/QC, production and AR metric results
  • Works as a member/leader of special or ongoing projects that are important to process improvement
  • Responsible for suggesting methods to improve departmental needs, efficiency and service to both internal and external customers
  • Assists the manager with daily operations of the department to include the development, analysis and implementation of staffing, training, scheduling and reward/recognition
  • Responsible for maintaining assigned worklists within the billing system

Experience, Education and Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma, Associates preferred
  • 3+ years related experience in billing, insurance or healthcare; a background in Laboratory insurance billing preferred
  • Knowledgeable about billing practices.
  • This may include knowledge of Test pricing and CPT coding, reimbursement processes; commercial billing accounts receivables, review and interpretation of agings, cash flows, write offs and follow up analysis
  • Proficiency in utilizing MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Microsoft Power Pivot, a plus
  • Able to write, speak, and listen well and appropriately with different audiences.
  • Able to write reports, business correspondence and other documentation materials.
  • Able to think analytically, conceptually and systemically. Able to collect and research data, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate decisions.
