Position Summary
Platform.sh is seeking a Strategic Account Executive to join our Sales team in France, with a key focus on expanding our footprint within the finance and insurance sectors. This role is essential for driving growth by establishing and nurturing strategic relationships with clients, starting with one of Europe’s major financial institutions., and identifying additional opportunities within the industry. The Strategic Account Executive will identify, develop, and execute targeted strategies to deepen our presence within these industries, drawing on the innovative cloud solutions offered by Platform.sh.
This is a quota-carrying, individual contributor role and will report directly to the General Manager, DACH and Channels.
What you can expect
- Deepen and expand partnerships with key accounts while actively hunting for new opportunities across the finance and insurance sectors, opening doors for growth and collaboration.
- Develop and implement a strategic account plan tailored to our major banking client and similar high-impact accounts, highlighting our unique value and capabilities to align with customer goals.
- Lead a seamless sales journey, from initial prospecting through deal closure, understanding customer needs, and maintaining comprehensive insights in Salesforce.
- Collaborate across teams - product support, sales engineering, and more - to ensure alignment and deliver exceptional client experience at every stage.
- Showcase Platform.sh through impactful product demonstrations and consultations, whether solo or alongside a Solutions Architect, demonstrating how we solve real challenges.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor activities, equipping you to position Platform.sh strategically and meaningfully within the market.
- Communicate and engage thoughtfully with stakeholders from leadership to onboarding teams, ensuring clarity and alignment across each interaction.
- Drive results through accurate forecasting and closing new opportunities, communicating our value with confidence and insight.
- Foster strong client relationships through on-site visits and support, building trust and propelling successful outcomes across each of your accounts.
What you bring
- Proven technology sales success: Extensive experience in technology-driven B2B sales, excelling in the finance and insurance sectors.
- Financial industry knowledge: Experience selling IBM solutions, especially on the IBM Cloud platform and the Financial Services framework, with insight into the operations of major financial institutions.
- Strategic sales leadership: A history of meeting and exceeding sales targets, showcasing expertise in both building pipelines and securing new business.
- Business insight and tech fluency: Strong grasp of business challenges, with a proactive approach to understanding and leveraging new technologies for client solutions.
- Effective communication: Fluent in French and English, capable of building trust and strong client relationships through clear, persuasive communication.
- Team collaboration: Ability to work seamlessly within a global, diverse team environment to drive collective success.
- Sales methodologies: Familiarity with leading methodologies like Solution Selling, Value Selling, and MEDDIC/MEDDPICC.
- Initiative and independence: A self-motivated professional who takes ownership and drives projects forward while integrating effectively within a global sales team.
- Goal-oriented persistence: A relentless drive to achieve and surpass sales targets, delivering consistently high performance.
- CRM proficiency: Proficient with CRM platforms, particularly Salesforce, for maintaining accurate sales records and managing client relationships.
- Established industry network: Strong professional connections within the finance and insurance sectors in France.
- Flexibility and mobility: Open to travel (30-40%) to meet clients and drive business growth.
Bonus points for
- Experience with platform-as-a-service, cloud technologies, and web applications.
- Bachelor's Degree with a technical or business focus preferred.
