Overview

The role of a Worker’s Compensation Manager is to ensure that employees injured on the job receive timely and appropriate medical treatment to allow them to return to work in a safe and healthy manner. This role also includes oversight of unemployment insurance claims.

Responsibilities

  • Report workers’ compensation claims to the company’s workers’ compensation insurance.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential workers’ compensation claim files.

  • Build and maintain relationships with adjusters, account managers, brokers and insurance carriers.

  • Recommend solutions to complex claims that may involve coverage and compensability disputes.

  • Manage workers' compensation claim investigations, settlements and litigation.

  • Serve as primary liaison for unemployment insurance carrier to manage unemployment claim costs.

  • Serve as focal point of contact for employees with workers' compensation claims and assists with questions concerning workers' compensation claim submittal, case management, benefits, medical treatment, etc.

  • Obtain and provide, where appropriate, authority for claim settlement or closure and communicates to legal representation and/or third party claims administrator (TPA).

  • Build on workers’ compensation programs such as return to work, preferred medical provider organizations, etc. to reduce the cost of workers’ compensation claims.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification strongly preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in workers' compensation law and/or management

  • Some experience with managing unemployment claims

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make decisions and manage time with multiple high-priority tasks

  • Professional and clear verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and Google applications

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:

$82,324.46 to $109,765.95

Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards.  Sunrun provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
