At Avantor, people are the most important part of our success because they drive our global performance. That’s why our Operations, Lab Services, Sales, and many other Avantor teams rely on our talent acquisition initiatives to attract, engage and hire the right talent. Avantor’s Treasury Engineering vertical is a crucial part of this mix, enabling all our internal teams worldwide to grow beyond their limits.

The Senior Program Manager plans, leads, and organizes projects within our Marketing Project Management Office (PMO) for the Global Communications & Brand (GC&B) team supporting the Lab Solutions Segment (LSS). This individual will motivate team members to achieve a high level of performance and quality, delivering marketing programs on time and within budget, including marketing campaigns, creative design, emails, digital marketing, events, internal/external communications, and others. The Senior Program Manager will ensure marketing programs demonstrate a strong ROI, increase profitability, and deliver on goals/KPIs. Additionally, this individual will implement processes and tools that increase efficiency, create standardization, and strengthen employee knowledge and accountability.

The Senior Program Manager will work with teams across all cross-functional areas, including Business Unit Marketing, In House Agency (IHA), Marketing Reporting & Analytics, Supplier Marketing, Internal Communications, External Communications, IT, and others to gather, define, and establish program plans for all projects, campaigns, and initiatives related to LSS. This individual will lead annual and quarterly planning, including creating and managing communication of key initiatives and tasks, determining allocation of project resources, and developing program timelines in line with business unit goals and needs.

Additionally, the Senior Program Manager will work with leadership and cross-functional teams, to implement improved marketing operations within the GC&B organization. The Senior Program Manager will facilitate the diagnosis of organizational problems, set business goals and roadmaps, and develop and manage technology/tools, training, workstreams, or programs to achieve these goals. This position will be a key leader in creating and setting standards within the PMO, implementing risk and impact analysis; building capability across the organization; establishing clear processes, roles, and responsibilities; and being involved in other strategic and tactical initiatives. This individual will work with external technology vendors and agencies to ensure programs and tasks are executed according to business strategies/requirements and project/creative briefs.

This position will report into the VP, Marketing Operations and will be remote.

Experience: 10+ years of program/project management experience in Marketing/Advertising, ideally for large, complex, global organizations with multiple business units.

  • 3+ Supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of program/project management methodologies and change management.
  • Strong understanding of current marketing and digital concepts, strategies, tools, and best practices, including campaigns, digital marketing, emails, social media, events, and internal/external communications.
