The Senior Product Manager, US Private, Personal & Digital Banking (PP&D) will partner with bankers and team members within the Line of Business (LOB) along with others around the bank (finance, compliance, risk) to manage the products and pricing offered to clients of PP&D, US.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and centralization of core Private and Personal Banking products and pricing offered to clients and the policies the team should follow to manage overall client experience & risk expectations. This individual will also monitor and understand the various products profit and loss while also looking for ways to improve execution on the delivery of products and services to CIBC clients. The products and pricing will revolve around those solutions clients utilize from lending (residential, msl, custom) and deposits (DDA, MMA, Agility). 

In addition, the Senior Product Manager will support the overall leadership and provide expertise on solutions that are market leading as well as in compliance with all legal and regulatory expectations.  This individual will work with leaders across CIBC in Risk, Credit, Legal, Product, and Sales to ensure proper, strategic guidance across the function, while maintaining industry-specific knowledge on relevant regulatory and risk topics to provide recommendation and counsel to the various partners through the organization.

How you'll succeed 

  • Develop and manage appropriate policies and procedures across the line of business in line with the products and services being offered to the client segments within PP&D.
  • Drive product innovation and define long-term product direction with initial focus on refining the product offering and internal support strategy.
  • Liaise with key internal partners from groups including Legal, Compliance, and Risk.
  • Support and manage product pricing (loans & deposits), which includes collecting necessary data from sales and account executives, Finance and other resources, modeling and refining the assumptions and desired spread and tracking the profitability.
  • Evaluate key metrics and performance to provide actionable insights, identify opportunities to grow revenue and profit through data mining, analytics, and automation.
  • Support deposit and credit analytics and pricing strategy by product to maximize rate volume mix and corporate profit objectives.
  • Deliver information to management around loan and deposit pricing trends and strategy.
  • Act as a point of contact for bankers to evaluate pricing strategies on both loan and deposits in order to swiftly answer questions and guide outcomes and execution.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance and related documentation around tasks, models, and various risk reporting areas consistent CIBC policies and strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for training and work with relevant partners to create and deliver training.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the CIBC brand.

Who you are 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8-10 years of banking experience is required
  • 5+ years of legal and lending background
  • Knowledge of the private banking business and associated products
  • Team-oriented with ability to interact effectively with various functions including Private Bankers, investment professionals, marketing, risk, legal, compliance, technology and operations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be highly responsive and organized
  • Technology proficient with Microsoft applications (excel, power point, word)
  • Knowledge of bank operations, accounting and finance, and credit
  • Exceptional presentation, verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate practical and pragmatic advice to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse array of colleagues
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, creative thinking, and passion for growth
  • Strong analytical skills

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package.  This role has an expected salary range of $150,000 - $200,000 for the Chicago, IL market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.  The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
