KBR's Defense Systems Engineering Division is seeking a Cloud Engineer (TS/SCI) to join our team. We are looking for innovative, creative, and highly motivated individuals to support the strategic planning and tactical execution of various engineering efforts—specifically, the full lifecycle of wide-ranging software and hardware projects within the JTDI program. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for learning, the drive to innovate, and a humble attitude. You will work on cutting edge projects, solving problems that most aren't even aware exist.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain currently implemented AWS GovCloud environments. To help maintain the environment, duties can include: providing Network Administrator and System Administrator support; perform cyber security continuous monitoring, and report corrective actions; troubleshooting system and network connectivity issues.
- Provide cloud engineering expertise to design and deliver mission systems (infrastructure/platform/applications/process) solutions within the cloud.
- Assist in identifying current program capabilities that can be modernized to leverage cloud solutions. This would include scoping of requirements, cost considerations, level of effort, architectural and technical recommendations
- Establish preferred best practices and procedures for implementing solutions in the cloud. Design, develop, and deploy technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities. Willingness to stay updated with the latest AWS services and best practices. Develop new and update current documentation associated with processes, procedures, and tasking.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Cloud Computing, or IT/STEM/Technical discipline and 2+ years of experience.
- OR AA/AS in IT/STEM/Technical discipline and 6+ years of experience.
- OR High School Diploma and 10+ years of experience.
Technical Skills:
- 2 or more years of experience working the Amazon Web Services.
- 4 or more years of Information Technology infrastructure or System Administrator experience.
- Proficient knowledge of Amazon Web Services products and capabilities
- Experience in software engineering, design architecture, analyzing computer hardware and software solutions
- Holds an AWS Certification
Citizenship & Clearance: Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident with an active TS/SCI Clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with AWS GovCloud.
- Experience supporting the DoD community.
- Experience working with ACAS, HBSS, and SCAP
- Experience with creating system diagrams using Visio or equivalent.
- Experience in system administration of Red Hat Linux 8+, Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems creatively
- Experience with containerization technology such as Docker and Kubernetes clusters
This position offers a flexible remote working environment.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week
Compensation: $86,000-145,000. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
