The Technical Accounting & Reporting team is seeking a highly qualified candidate with a solid accounting base combined with the ability to succeed and grow, particularly in a hands-on, high growth and fast paced environment. This role will provide support to our technical accounting function as well support other finance and accounting functions across Fullsteam.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead the acquisition accounting for newly acquired companies
Prepare and review opening balance sheet calculations and support for new acquisitions
Liaison with the M&A team, Business Unit teams and internal accounting teams to ultimately submit final purchase accounting documents
Review acquisition purchase agreements to determine appropriate accounting treatment
Liaison with valuation specialists to determine and record acquisition intangible values
Record and reconcile monthly intangible amortization and acquisition accounting entries in the general ledger
Assist with projects associated with implementing accounting efficiencies
Assist in the year-end audit
Work closely and effectively with business unit management and other departments at Fullsteam
Work on special projects in accounting and finance
Assist with any related audit requests
Assist with technical accounting matters as needed
Skills & Competencies:
Strong technical background, including specific knowledge of current accounting rules
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate with leadership, cross functional teams, and external sources
Extremely detail oriented, well organized, and the ability to multi-task
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and complete assignments with short deadlines
Execution-orientation with a strong adherence to deadlines
Ability to analyze complex situations, identify problems, and develop effective solutions
Capacity to think ahead, set clear goals, and develop long-term plans to achieve organizational objectives
Capable of working together with diverse individuals, fostering a positive team environment, and promoting collaboration and teamwork
Curious mind that looks for more efficient ways to complete tasks
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience with acquisition accounting
Experience with identifying accounting process improvements and taking initiative to implement them
Experience with financial reporting and consolidations
2-4 years of accounting experience
Month-end close
Understanding of US GAAP accounting
SaaS based software and / or the payments industry
Proficiency in NetSuite accounting software preferred.
Bachelor’s degree with Accounting or Finance concentration
MBA or CPA preferred
