You'll be responsible for

  • Working with our Group Risk and Compliance team as Data Privacy Officer, responsible for building a strategic and comprehensive privacy risk assessment and controls monitoring program that enables consistent, effective privacy practices which minimise risk and ensure the confidentiality of customer information in partnership with senior management, security, and data teams.
  • Collaborating with the Chief Information Security Officer to ensure alignment between security and privacy compliance programs, including policies, practices, and reviews.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining a privacy risk management framework that enables Divisions to maintain effective privacy controls and manage privacy complaints and breaches.
  • Promoting information privacy awareness and maturity uplift across the organisation, including the development of key privacy training materials, facilitate enhanced training to key functions and through partnering and consulting with Allianz’ Australian leadership and operational teams
  • Supporting the continuous improvement and strengthening of key privacy standards and controls across divisions, leveraging extensive knowledge of industry best practice and Group policies.

 

About you

  • Significant experience within a senior privacy or data protection role acquired in a complex, matrixed financial services organisation. Professional privacy qualifications are highly regarded, such as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM).
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and managing privacy programs and uplifting organisational maturity in this area.
  • Experience in developing and implementing internal control and governance, policies and procedures based on the regulatory requirements and leading continuous improvement initiatives to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Highly developed analytical skills, demonstrating the capability to analyse and interpret complex information from a broad range of sources (locally and internationally) and to present findings in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact, and influence, positively influencing risk behaviours throughout AAL.
