Requirements
HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE
Customer-Engineering Liaison
  • Serve as the primary bridge between customer needs and the engineering team, translating requirements into actionable technical specifications that align with product goals and timelines.

  • Become a subject matter expert for the entire application suite, ensuring comprehensive understanding and effective communication of customer needs to engineering.

  • Communicate product development status to both internal stakeholders and external customers, ensuring alignment and transparency.

Product Ownership and Team Leadership
  • Act as a lead within the product team by overseeing daily activities and ensuring priorities are clear.

  • Own the Product and Sprint Backlogs, continuously creating, prioritizing, and maintaining them (prior to and during backlog refinement sessions).

  • Empowered to make critical decisions regarding functionality and development priority, ensuring alignment with the product vision and business goals.

  • Responsible for creating and updating user stories, improvements, and bugs along with acceptance criteria/test cases within Atlassian project management tools (e.g., JIRA/Confluence).

  • Provide support to the Agile development team to unblock development issues, ensuring smooth progress and adherence to timelines.

  • Convey the vision and goals at the beginning of every Release and Sprint to ensure team alignment and focus.

Communication and Mentorship
  • Clearly communicate project details to the engineering team and translate technical concepts for business teams and end users, ensuring mutual understanding and alignment.

  • Share technical expertise and product knowledge through informal mentorship and coaching, fostering an environment of growth and collaboration.

  • Participate in daily Scrums, Sprint Planning Meetings, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, providing guidance and ensuring team success.

  • Ensure that user stories, improvements, and bugs written by the Product team meet the Definition of Ready (DoR) and provide a sign-off prior to backlog refinement meetings with Engineering.

Strategic Product Vision
  • Collaborate with the Director of Product to ensure and uphold business priorities and the overarching product vision.

  • Define product vision, maintain the product roadmap, and articulate product requirements to guide long-term development and success.

  • Maintain a holistic view of the product, ensuring all decisions align with strategic priorities and company objectives.

  • Participate in shaping and validating the long-term vision, helping the team stay focused on key outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Empathy and Collaboration
  • Foster a collaborative, empathetic environment, valuing both customer and engineering perspectives to enhance product development and customer satisfaction.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align priorities, address challenges, and deliver high-quality product features that meet stakeholder needs.

WHO YOU ARE
  • Experienced Product Owner with Leadership Potential: Minimum of 3 years proven success in product and sprint management within a startup or SaaS environment, with demonstrated success in guiding teams without direct authority. You will act as a lead and, with proven success, may grow into a formal managerial role.
  • Proactive and Adaptable Leader: Self-starter with the ability to make independent decisions while aligning with business goals. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping product strategy and execution within a growing team.
  • Technically Proficient and Data-Driven: Strong understanding of Agile software development and data-driven decision-making. Your technical literacy enables you to refine team processes and ensure data informs each decision.
