As part of our Food, Beverage and Consumer Goods team, you’ll help our FMCG customers connect business processes and leverage data-driven technology for better visibility, agility and responsiveness. We are recruiting for Business Development Representative with FMCG experience who will increase the number of new opportunities for TELUS Consumer Goods. This role will develop and build a Sales Pipeline in accordance with the methodology set out by TELUS providing key business insights regarding progression. The Business Development Manager reports to Head of Sales & Customer (APAC) and acts as one of the key operators within the APAC Sales & Customer Team, responsible for identifying and developing revenue growth. The role is focused on APAC region for TPx and Retail Execution products which may expand over time.

Here’s how:

  • Run campaigns to drive consideration by FMCG companies to review TELUS Consumer Goods solutions.
  • Understand our FMCG clients' needs to shape development programmes.
  • Lead generation activity in order to fill pipeline in order to meet sales quota.
  • Find prospective new FMCG clients, from lead generation, internal leaders, and conferences
  • Nurture opportunities to the point of qualification
  • Generate new leads and opportunities to be worked with Manager to close.
  • Work with Marketing to determine annual marketing plans
  • Understand the competitive landscape and market trends
  • Understand and be able to effectively communicate our advantages over the competition
  • Work with Product Strategy to identify new propositions and offers so that it they are aligned to each client’s business and needs
  • Open conversations with new opportunities
  • Support the Head of Sales APAC in preparing business cases for customers
  • Engage resources from our product strategy and professional services teams to support sales cycles.

What you bring to this role

  • Experience within the Consumer Goods/FMCG market space, ideally with experience selling SaaS
  • Proven experience of establishing a business development practice
  • Ability to maintain high energy levels and results driven
  • Excellent verbal communication, written and presentation skills
  • Experience and established network within the FMCG/ Consumer Goods / Retail industry
  • Effective time management and adapts quickly to changing priorities
  • Strong organization skills that include prioritizing tasks, creating and keeping deadlines, and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
