Job Summary 

The Marketing Director will oversee strategic marketing initiatives to drive growth and enhance the client experience within the Employee Benefits Practice. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Marketing, this role will collaborate closely with the National Practice Leader and cross-functional teams, including marketing, client services, sales, product, and field operations. The Marketing Director will focus on growth initiatives, client retention, and improving the experience for Employee Benefits, Employee Benefits Specialty, and Medicare offerings. 

 

The ideal candidate will be passionate about driving growth and ROI through brand-centric, data-driven strategies that optimize lead generation, conversion, and retention. This role will also support tech-forward, digital-first strategies with Product and Digital Transformation teams to ensure innovation.  

 

The OneDigital marketing team values high performance, collaboration, and authenticity. In this role, you will lead a wide range of initiatives, including divisional brand development, campaign management, content creation, industry events, sales enablement, and client experience. 

 

Key Responsibilities & Duties 

 

Employee Benefits Practice 

  • Partner with Practice Leader and VP of Growth Strategy to drive the go-to-market strategy to support organic growth of the Employee Benefits Practice, including new sales and expanding existing client relationships. 

  • Partner with executive stakeholders to determine the market development strategy, sales priorities, and focus areas within distribution channels. 

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies tailored to both down-market employee benefits solutions and broader mid-market go-to-market approaches, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving growth across all market segments. 

  • Work with solution leaders to tailor offerings to industry-specific needs and enhance the client experience. 

  • Collaborate with the national marketing and field marketing team to manage and execute marketing initiatives for the Employee Benefits Practice. 

  • Partner with Product, IT, and Digital Transformation teams to support product marketing and innovation within the Employee Benefits Practice. 

  • Collaborate with the Mergers & Acquisitions team on marketing and sales support during pre-sale, post-close integration, and brand transition efforts. 

  • Develop and implement divisional marketing plans, including growth campaign strategies, brand awareness, sales enablement, webinars, social media, PR, and client campaigns. 

 

General Marketing 

  • Lead the development and execution of the Employee Benefits Practice’s brand strategy, ensuring alignment with OneDigital’s overall brand and values. 

  • Work closely with the brand marketing team to maintain consistent and compelling brand messaging across all channels, ensuring a unified and strong presence in the marketplace. 

  • Serve as the key liaison to field marketing for day-to-day marketing activities within the Employee Benefits Practice, ensuring information flows effectively across the organization. 

  • Leverage Voice of the Customer and buyer intent insights to drive retention strategies and improve the overall Customer Experience within the Practice. 

  • Work with learning and development and internal communications teams to develop and update sales and consultant materials, educational content, and other resources to promote OneDigital’s core services. 

  • Represent the marketing team at various events, including acquisition prospect meetings, industry conferences, webinars, and podcasts. 

  • Perform other duties as required. 

 

Management 

  • Management of a team of 3-4 people in support of Employee Benefits marketing. 

  • Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback to ensure all performance standards are met. 

  • Strategize and implement educational resources to enhance team knowledge and capabilities. 

  • Conduct performance evaluations for team members. 

  • Establish and communicate clear goals, methodologies, and responsibilities for cross-functional teams to ensure alignment. 

  • Oversee day-to-day administrative responsibilities, including staff recruitment, budgeting, and vendor management. 

 

Preferred Experience 

  • 8+ years of experience in B2B marketing, Employee Benefits, Insurance or a related field required. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, PR, or a related field. 

  • Experience with digital marketing platforms (e.g., Eloqua, HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, WordPress), social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, LinkedIn, Twitter), design tools (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator), and organizational tools (e.g., Trello, Slack, Microsoft Office). 

  • At least five years of management experience, with a proven track record of leading and developing entry-level marketing team members. 

 

Required Capabilities 

  • Proven ability to drive growth and deliver measurable ROI through targeted marketing initiatives, including experience in developing and executing data-driven strategies that optimize lead generation, conversion, and client retention. 

  • Proven ability to independently execute high-quality projects with confidence. 

  • Experience coordinating activities across teams, departments, and external vendors, managing multiple deadlines. 

  • Strong collaboration skills across sales, IT, client services, and training teams. 

  • Excellent multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills. 

  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities. 

  • Strategic, metrics-driven mindset with a focus on achieving results. 

  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills. 

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and action-oriented. 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 

The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $120,000 to $140,000 per year 

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.  We also offer eligible employees health, wellbeing, retirement, and other financial benefits, paid time off, overtime pay for non-exempt employees, and robust learning and development programs.
