About the role
As a Sr. Network Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of network infrastructure management and development, collaborating closely with expert network architects and engineers. Your role involves monitoring and supporting the network infrastructure, automating repetitive tasks, optimizing efficiency, and exploring new cloud services and tools. You will directly influence our operational approach by bringing your experience and expertise, with the aim to iteratively enhance our network's reliability, cost-efficiency, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
As an individual contributor or member of a project team, support successful implementation of network automation projects, with a keen focus on enhancing capacity, scaling, performance, and security.
Conducts research, design, implement and document Network infrastructure automation solutions, and build standard practices across enterprise operations that enhance the operations and cost structures of the production environment
Support seamless operations of network and security infrastructure, equipment, services, and monitoring tools
Provide technical input to the overall architectural and operational discussions around network infrastructure, automation and tools
Participate in and suggest improvements to standards configuration, change management processes and practices
Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects and tasks
Act as a network developer to create innovative solutions and write Python and Ansible code on a daily basis
Proactively identify and resolve key technical issues
Stay up to date with the latest DevOps technologies and best practices
Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and provide incident response support as needed
Perform other reasonable duties as required for this position
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.
In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $124,000.00 - $198,000.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.
In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.
Who you are
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field, or equivalent certification
7+ years of experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on designing, implementing and troubleshooting complex networking solutions
Proficiency in IPv6 and network automation using tools such as Ansible, Python, Terraform, and others
Experience with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure automation across multi-cloud environments
Demonstrated ability to work with DevOps, CI/CD, Agile methodologies, cloud-native deployment tooling and a test-driven culture
Strong foundation in networking (Juniper/Cisco and non-Cisco) technologies, with a keen interest in automating network operations
Ability to travel 10-20% of the time
Technical Skills:
Certifications in network/security technologies (e.g., CCNP, CISSP, Cisco DevNet, JNCIP)
Certification in cloud providers – AWS, GCP (e.g., AWS Advanced Networking Specialty, AWS Security Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect Associate etc)
Experience with large scale AWS networking, IPv6, SASE/SSE, Juniper firewalls, and Infrastructure as Code for cloud network components
Knowledge of Linux platforms, container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker), and interfacing with cloud infrastructure via APIs
A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a track record of identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks and improvement areas.
Experience in researching emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products and synthesizing into clear technology roadmaps and strategies.
