Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Engineering Manager to work within our Consumer Information Business.

Background:

 

This is an incredibly exciting time for the Experian UKI Region, as we look to build our presence in the UK and Hyderabad and work on a technology transformation to meet our aspiration to significantly scale our business over the next five years. This an opportunity to join Credit & Verification Services on this journey and be part of a collaborative team that uses Agile DevSecOps principles to deliver business value. 

 

Credit and Verification Services currently comprises nearly 100 engineering teams who deliver over 200 products achieving significant revenue per annum for our UK Business.  Our unique culture and agile ways of working offer a great opportunity to those seeking to join a talented set of diverse problem solvers to design, build and maintain our products. The Domian:

 

As a member of the Acquisitions and Originations team, you will be part of a delivery team working on the development and delivery of products that combine technology and business outcomes, allowing people to share their credit information with our clients to receive a market leading score and a clear picture of eligibility and affordability of new credit to help them achieve their next big life event e.g. buying a car, or house. Providing accurate and up to date information is key in maintaining financial health for our consumers.

 

Our Tech:

 

We're a proud software house using a rich mixture of the tools and features. We're using .Net Core in all new services and are always keen to evaluate new features to see if we can take advantage of them. React front ends with a mix of MVC and SPA architecture. We use multiple testing and quality techniques, and our services are pushed through our environments using DevOps pipelines is predominantly AWS environments which communicates with our Server and Mainframe estate.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Leading an agile team to develop quality solutions
  • Collaborating effectively to support and enhance the full product lifecycle
  • Reviewing proposals, evaluating alternatives, providing estimates and making recommendations
  • Serving as an expert on applications and providing technical support
  • Revising, updating, refactoring and debugging greenfield and established codebases
  • Supporting other team members’ development

Qualifications

 

  • Experience of the full development lifecycle
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
  • The ability to work with offshore teams from different cultures and background
  • Write clean, scalable code, with a view towards design patterns and security best practices
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to analyse problems and requirements
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Passion for continually pushing and improving how we build/test/prove our services

 

Required Technical Skills/Knowledge:

 

  • 10+ years<Specify number of years for hyderabad> - including leading teams
  • Ability to pick up new skills and proprietary code
  • Strong .NET Core/Framework experience
  • Entity Framework & Databases (SQL Server/SQL Azure)
  • Experience working in SOA or microservices architecture
  • AWS (Kubernetes/Lambda .etc)
  • Good understanding of application security principles in web applications
  • Competent in OO design patterns and concurrency concepts

 

Useful skills:

  • Serverless development and deployment (desirable)
  • Knowledge of AWS infrastructure (desirable)
