The role
As a Senior Trainer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary where you’ll provide specialist training and assessment to the Nuclear Function on specific activities related to the role. 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be tasked with the managing, delivering and assessment of specialist training on site, ensuring that the business is compliant with our licence conditions.

 

  • Manage, coordinate and deliver identified operations and maintenance training and refresher program to the required personnel.
  • Provide formal training and support for all identified Nuclear Facilities operations and maintenance personnel including Supervisors. 
  • Providing tutoring and briefing on training programs and revised methodology and procedures.
  • Carry out trainer and peer evaluation of training material and training delivery, in accordance with Systematic Approach to Training (SAT).
  • Ensuring that nuclear and radiological safety is the focus in all activities and responsibilities undertaken.
  • Conducting internal audits in support of facilities operations and maintenance

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

 

Essential experience of the Senior Trainer:

  • Relevant and demonstrable experience in the delivery, development and supervision of fuel handling, operations and maintenance training. 
  • Competent training presenter / assessor with knowledge and experience in operations and maintenance within marine or civil engineering
  • Have a working knowledge of a Systems Approach to Training (SAT) and its application in the training environment.
  • Previous experience/knowledge or internal auditing would be beneficial. 

 

Qualifications for the Senior Trainer:

  • Level 4 qualification in Learning and Development or Extensive and proven experience in adult learning within a highly governed area.
  • Level 3 qualification in an engineering based subject
  • (IRCA) ISO9001:2015 Internal Auditor – Desirable

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) / Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
