JOB SUMMARY
Senior System Engineer is responsible for maintaining, improving, and managing the corporate network infrastructure, designing a stable and scalable architecture, mentoring our System Engineer team, administering various systems including network, server infrastructure, firewalls, Database Servers, monitoring system performance, and configuring new software and hardware. Senior Systems Engineer will analyze the existing IT systems, end-to-end processes and identify opportunities and recommendations for efficiency improvements that will ensure the infrastructure scale with the rapid growth of this company. This includes identifying systems and architectural risks and required remediations. Assist in ensuring the architecture and systems meet the SOC II Type 2 standards required by the business. The Senior Systems Engineer will ensure the technology group provides continuous improvements and innovative solutions for business growth and new product development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for network, server infrastructure, firewalls, Database Servers, monitoring system performance, and configuring new software and hardware
- Initial point of contact for all major technical problems and/or outages
- Provide mentoring and guidance to the engineering staff on technical day-to-day activities covered by other members of the team
- Manage and administer the infrastructure within our Local, Private Cloud, and Azure Cloud environments
- Automate various tasks via scripting (PowerShell, Python etc)
- Responsible for managing the Development, QA, Staging environments and related Infrastructure in coordination with the Product Engineering team
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business or related field required or equivalent combination of industry related professional experience and education
- At least 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in the field of Systems, Databases and Network Administration
- At least 8 years relevant experience with Azure Cloud
- At least 5 years experience directly responsible for working across multiple interconnected systems in a complex setup
- At least 5 years experience with programing and/or scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python and Bash
- Experience with designing, implementing and managing Network, LAN/WAN, Server Infrastructure
- Emergency/Incident response for leading and troubleshooting production outages
- Experience with DR and BCP
- Knowledge with Security, MSP and MSSP
- Proficient in Office 365, SQL Server, VDI, IIS Web Server Administration
- Experience with MS Intune
- Experience with VMWare, Citrix environments
- Excellent critical thinking skills and ability to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy

- Passion for designing user-centered experiences is also essential for success in this role

- ITIL certification
