OVERVIEW:

This Creative Copywriter will partner with designers & all levels of creative management as well as internal clients to craft effective messaging in several marketing and digital channels in order to inspire the DICK’S athlete. Creative Writers, in conjunction with the Manager of Creative & design, drive campaigns and related projects from conceptual strategy to rollout, ensuring all communications adhere to the approved Brand vision and creative brief. They collaborate with the design, planning, content and ecommerce teams to address business goals in the development of editorial and promotional messaging for various individual projects including local and national advertising, digital ads, organic and paid social channels, SMS, push notifications, email, web, direct mail, and other projects as needed. Interest in golf is a plus.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Design, Develop, and Produce Creative Content:

  • Develops engaging, best-in-class copy and tactical messaging across digital channels, leveraging channel expertise to elevate the athlete experience through copy.

  • Supports campaign concepts, from development to rollout.

  • Support Creative Managers and Copy Lead with development of creative campaign themes, standards and deliverables. 

  • Champion the athlete in all thought process, creative, design, and final products.   

Research:

  • Compiles, analyzes, and applies competitive research and insights to improve effectiveness of writing across channels.

  • Participates in testing strategies to optimize communications.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends to continually elevate creative efforts.

Cross-Functional Partnerships:

  • Partners with Senior Copywriters and Copy Lead to ensure consistent brand voice across channels.

  • Collaborates with Design team in creative development.

  • Collaborate with AI and machine learning specialists/vendors to integrate AI technology into the creative process. Leverage AI tools and platforms to assist in generating innovative and data-informed creative content, while ensuring that the output aligns with the brand's vision and objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications or Journalism

  • 3-5 years with a minimum 3 years previous editorial experience in advertising/marketing

  • Expert in spelling, grammar, and overall use of the English language

  • Ability to write in a number of styles including advertising, marketing, business development, social media and internal communications

  • Advertising, marketing or creative agency experience a plus

  • Familiarity with contemporary social media avenues 

  • Golf expertise; golf enthusiast; understanding of golf lifestyle & culture not required but welcome!

Targeted Pay Range: $54,600.00 - $90,900.00. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
