Job description

The era of pervasive AI has arrived.  In this era, organizations will use generative AI to unlock hidden value in their data, accelerate processes, reduce costs, drive efficiency and innovation to fundamentally transform their businesses and operations at scale.

SambaNova Suite™ is the first full-stack, generative AI platform, from chip to model, optimized for enterprise and government organizations. Powered by the intelligent SN40L chip, the SambaNova Suite is a fully integrated platform, delivered on-premises or in the cloud, combined with state-of-the-art open-source models that can be easily and securely fine-tuned using customer data for greater accuracy. Once adapted with customer data, customers retain model ownership in perpetuity, so they can turn generative AI into one of their most valuable assets.

We are building leading-edge ML/AI hardware platforms, driving innovation to transform server board designs for next-gen data centers. Join a team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of server PCB design for ML/AI-driven architectures.

Responsibilities:

As a Sr. PCB Layout Engineer, you will lead the design and layout of high-density, complex server boards integrating ML/AI chips, working on all phases of PCB design and production for advanced server solutions. You will contribute in a cross-functional team environment, collaborating on high-speed, high-density layouts that require both creativity and precision in routing and component placement. This role involves hands-on PCB design expertise with an emphasis on component selection, placement, and routing to meet the unique electrical and mechanical requirements of dense server boards used in data centers.

  • Key collaboration with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to ensure designs meet all electrical and mechanical enclosure requirements
  • Create complete documentation packages required for PCB fabrication and assembly

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years experience in PCB layout design using industry-standard PCB design suites
  • 5+ years experience with high-speed, high-density PCB designs for data center or similar applications
  • Proficiency in inputting, modifying, and managing board constraints in Cadence Allegro
  • Experience understanding and fixing PCB manufacturer DFM inputs and errors, as well as contract manufacturer DFM inputs and errors
  • Ability to complete the entire Gerber output process, including all PCB layout checks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in PCB layout design with industry-standard tools like Cadence Allegro
  • Experience with high current density designs
  • Experience with Cadence Allegro Skill scripting and Valor tool
  • Experience with high-speed signal integrity and power integrity requirements for ML/AI server boards
  • Familiarity with managing 3rd party layout services and technical lead experience for PCB design teams
  • Proficiency in design reviews for both schematics and layouts, ensuring compliance with best practices

Annual Salary Range and Level:

The base salary for this position ranges from $180,000/year up to $210,000/year. This range is based on role, level, and location and reflects the salary target for new hires in the US.
