Job description

Summary

Serves as a Market Research Analyst and Strategic Advisor for the Office of Customer and Stakeholder Engagement (QC/CASE), Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), General Services Administration (GSA).

Location of position: This is a virtual position and duty location of this position will be determined upon selection.

We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.

Duties

  • Performs minor phases of a larger assignment pertaining to studies in marketing research, which includes data analysis, statistical modeling and query building, formatting, and programming skills to support sales and marketing efforts.
  • Performs a variety of assignments in the areas of product research, market management and market research, using a knowledge of market research and marketing concepts, GSA's management processes, its organization, policies, functions and goals and those of its customers.
  • Assists, higher level analysts in market research studies, performance planning efforts, market analyses, and other market research activities.
  • Assists in preparation of less complex study plans or portions of plans that define moderately complex to complex study efforts.
  • Performs quantitative, cost/economic analyses and operations research studies requiring the application of such techniques as mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, linear and nonlinear programming, simulation, decision theory and probability theory in a new or creative approach.
  • Prepares recommendations in various formats to audiences in formal and informal settings.

  • Direct Deposit of salary check to financial organization required.

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:

For the GS-9 salary starts at $59,966.00:

You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-7) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

Specialized Experience:

Specialized experience is experience using analytical and evaluative methods to perform market research studies, performance planning efforts, market analysis, other market research activities, and present data and recommendations.

OR

Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduation leading to such a degree, OR LL.B. or J.D., if related.

OR,

Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond a Bachelor's degree.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7.
