Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Telesales team at Mercer. This role will be based in a remote setting, allowing you to work from a location of your choice. However, despite working remotely, you will be operating within an inside sales center environment, which means you will have the necessary resources and support to carry out your sales activities effectively.

As the Remote Personal Lines Insurance Sales Agent, you will be responsible for selling personal lines insurance products to employees of companies that we have agreements with. To assist you in this process, you will utilize a comparative rating system to provide quotes and information to potential customers. The primary source of leads for this position will be inbound calls, meaning that interested individuals will be reaching out to you for information and quotes. However, to exceed revenue goals, you may also make outbound calls to potential customers. This opportunity offers a competitive commission plan on top of base pay!

We will count on you to:

  • Answer inbound calls to sell new insurance products to customers
  • Prepare and present solutions, overcome objections, and assist in purchasing appropriate insurance products
  • Determine eligibility and underwriting suitability
  • Cross sell insurance products, identify sales leads, and make outbound calls to finalize a sale
  • Document all information related to the call for reporting purposes

What you need to have:

  • Insurance sales or other relevant experience
  • Ability to motivate and influence people towards suggested products/solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with customers on the telephone
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • The ability to be licensed in all 50 states after successfully obtaining a Personal Lines license (Mercer will offer paid training to obtain a license)

What makes you stand out?

  • 2+ years of insurance sales or other relevant experience
  • Current Property & Casualty or Personal Lines License
  • Personal lines knowledge
  • Experience working in a call center environment
  • Demonstrated Sales Success

Why join our team:

  • We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.
  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.
  • Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.

The applicable base pay for this role is $36,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

We are excited to offer a competitive total rewards package which includes health and welfare benefits, tuition assistance, 401K savings and other retirement programs as well as employee assistance programs.

Application deadline: November 23, 2024
