As a Senior Medical Director, you will serve as a subject-matter expert in the deployment of imaging for clinical trials in oncology and other indication. This customer-facing role involves shaping trial design and imaging charters, overseeing training and performance of both external and internal radiologists, and providing medical oversight and "second opinions" for individual cases or issues that arise during the conduct of clinical trials. You will also be a key member of the leadership team for scientific and medical affairs across ICON Medical Imaging & Cardiac Safety.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide medical leadership on project teams
  • Provide medical/scientific consultation and therapeutic expertise to our clients
  • Oversee study-specific medical/safety monitoring activities, ensuring compliance with ethical, legal, and regulatory standards, as well as ICON and Sponsor SOPs
  • Represent the Medical Imaging Department in business development activities
  • Provide leadership within the Medical Imaging management team and line management to a global or regional Medical Imaging operations group.
  • Collaborate with ICON’s drug development experts beyond the Medical Imaging group.

Your profile

  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with medical training as a Radiologist
  • Minimum 5 years direct experience in imaging for clinical trials (>10 years ideal) in pharmaceutical company, contract research organization, or medical imaging service provider in academia
  • Board certification as a radiologist in the USA is desired but not required
  • Familiarity with core imaging paradigms (e.g. RECIST 1.1, LUGANO, etc) in common use in medical imaging for clinical trials in oncology
