Job Summary

The Associate Product Information Manager will be a focal point for driving utilization and adoption of the Product Information Management (PIM) system (Salsify & Syndigo) that is the source of the most accurate, complete, and up to date product information across the company. This role’s primary purpose is to develop processes and systems that make accurate and comprehensive product information available to both internal teams and external stakeholders, including retail platform syndication.

The PIM Manager operates across both Global Home Care and Global Pet Care business units to drive the organization's product information strategy, ensuring that the product data supports business objectives and will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive the creation and maintenance of high-quality product information assets. They will be overseeing the implementation and operation of the PIM system, ensuring data accuracy, and facilitating efficient data distribution across various channels.

Reporting to the Sr Media and Merchandising Manager, this position will be focused on both Global Home Care and Global Pet Care Business Units and work closely with eCommerce Sales teams and Marketing teams as well as our retail partners.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the PIM system, including configuration, data modeling, taxonomy development, and data governance.
  • Define and enforce data quality standards, ensuring that product information is accurate, complete, and consistent across all platforms and channels.
  • Lead a cross-divisional team of specialists, data analysts, and content managers, providing guidance and training on standard processes and practices associated with product data management.
  • Implement the data integration features within the PIM to collect and share information with external systems, including DAM (digital asset management) system.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments as needed to integrate the PIM system with other enterprise systems to facilitate seamless data flow.
  • Develop and maintain a product taxonomy and classification system that enhances data organization and improves searchability.
  • Implement workflow automation processes within the PIM to streamline data entry, approval, and distribution.
  • Manage the syndication of product data to external channels, including e-commerce websites, marketplaces, and partners.
  • Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to derive insights from product information, helping to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and maintain data security measures within the PIM system.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales teams, product managers, marketing teams, and IT to align PIM activities with business goals.
  • Develop and deliver training for PIM system users and stakeholders.
  • Gather feedback from various sources, including customers and internal teams, to continuously improve product information content and processes. Conducting regular audits of the PIM and brands to identify any inconsistencies or gaps in information.

Education and Experience Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Analytics, or equivalent
  • 2-4 years experience in a PIM Management role

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of PIM, metadata, taxonomy, and SEO best practices.
  • Prior experience with metadata input, organizing large amounts of files, hi-res file transmissions (FTP, servers, etc.), file naming conventions and database reporting.
  • Experience in managing Product information data internally.
  • Strong communications skills, including reading and writing in English.
  • Well organized and highly structured individual, with ability to give attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to apply data in providing solutions and driving strategic business decisions.
  • Self-starter that can work independently and identify process improvements proactively.
