Operational Design Analytics, Manager

What you will do

In this role, you will join the Operational Design Analytics Team (ODA,) within the Clinical Program Operations (CPO) function. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most passionate and brilliant scientific minds and contribute to our mission of advancing high potential programs for patients around the world. As an Operational Design Analytics Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of clinical trials through data-driven approaches.

As an ODA Manager, you will work closely with the ODA Senior Team to facilitate the development of predictive and custom analytics deliverables. Additionally, you will be partnering with other cross-functional data teams to drive efficiencies and ensure quality in our data ecosystem. Your effective communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment will be essential in driving cross-functional collaboration and delivering results. Your expertise in utilizing historical reference data sets and providing custom analytics will contribute to enhanced clinical operational planning and execution. Your proficiency in data curation with an eye for data quality will enable you to help build predictive modeling datasets clinical teams can have confidence in.

As an Operational Design Analytics Manager, you will be responsible for driving innovation and continuous improvement in our data-driven approaches, staying up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices, and sharing your knowledge and expertise with the team. Your passion for data and analytics, combined with your strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically, will be key in driving the success of our clinical trials and delivering value to our patients.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • In partnership with the ODA Senior Team, surface feasibility parameters, including historical trial performance metrics (enrollment rate, screen failure rate, drop-out rates, and completion rates) and other related clinical trial metadata.
  • Leverage internal data and predictive analytics tools to inform on study planning & placement decisions (examples of data sources/platforms include Trial Trove, Site Trove, Biomed Tracker, Cortellis Clinical Trial Intelligence, Study Optimizer, Data Query System (DQS))
  • Collate global site performance data to support recommendations for the most effective geographic footprint based on a study’s specific requirements.
  • Surface potential enrollment challenges by quantifying how specific eligibility criteria can impact recruitment rates and trial durations.
  • Harmonization and mastering of various data sources applied by cross-functional teams for study planning and predictive modeling.
  • Driving data quality and process improvement projects to accelerate efficiencies within the ODA Team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional data colleagues to curate biologically driven training datasets for Machine Learning applications.
  • Apply Racial and Ethnic Minority (REM) data insights to support the successful enrollment of the Diversity Action Plan (DAP) targets and DAP Mitigation Plans.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

Or

Master’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience

Or

Associate degree and 8years of relevant experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 10 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS/BSc in the sciences or RN
  • 9 years’ work experience in life sciences or medically related field, including 6 years of biopharmaceutical clinical development (clinical research or clinical operations experience obtained at a biotech, pharmaceutical or CRO company).
  • Experience in maximizing data and analytics to inform clinical trial planning.
  • Experience with clinical data sources and understanding of how/when to apply them (fit for purpose approach)
  • Ability to integrate & synthesize data as it relates to operational planning and apply to facilitate data-driven decision making.
  • Understands how data and analytics can inform study design and operational planning.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
