RSM’s Global Employer Services first-choice advisory team provides our clients with expertise in remote working analysis and solutions, tax consulting and compliance, global equity tracking, assignment planning, business travelers and social security. RSM GES professionals take the complexity and stress out of managing these for our clients.
As a Tax Associate/Senior Associate within our Global Employer Services team for RSM you will be responsible for the following job duties which are focused around two core concepts: your technical & quality expertise, and delivering excellent client service:
- Preparation and review of complex Canadian/US personal income tax returns under the supervision of manager
- Preparation of Canadian and U.S. payroll estimates including hypothetical tax and shadow payroll
- Demonstrate solid understanding of tax codes, regulations, rulings and case law
- Responsible for client work being performed on time and within appropriate scope of services and budget
- Stays alert to client needs that may result in growth opportunities for the firm and communicates to client service coordinator
- Communication with corporate clients and their assignees
- Assist with identification and conducting various consulting project including, but not limited to, compensation, internal client policies and other ad hoc activities
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree – preferably in Accounting or related field of study
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Public Accounting
- Comprehensive understanding of tax law/rules and implications
- Experience preparing personal income tax and payroll calculations
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, EA, JD or LL.M.
- Knowledge in Canadian and U.S. personal tax and payroll
- Experience with a national or large regional accounting firm
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $60,500 - $97,000
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
