Position: CloudOps Engineer

Location: Remote Costa Rica

Position Summary: 

We are seeking an experienced CloudOps Engineer with strong knowledge of Amazon Cloud operations. This role requires a candidate to be adept in Infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with Change Management policies. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive approach to Cloud Infrastructure and bring expertise in AWS Cloud operations to support a secure and compliant operational environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Monitoring and Incident Management:
  • Monitor Infrastructure performance and uptime using monitoring systems and tools.
  • Respond to Infrastructure incidents and outages, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain and manage escalation processes for Infrastructure alerts and incidents.

 

Regulatory Compliance Support: 

  • Collaborate with the compliance team to regularly review and apply updates in regulatory standards and guidelines.
  • Participate in audits and assessments to verify compliance with all required policies.

 

Reporting and Documentation: 

  • Document Infrastructure events, incidents, and resolutions clearly and comprehensively.
  • Generate compliance and performance reports to support ongoing monitoring and transparency.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of Infrastructure assets and configurations.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements for NOC procedures and policies.
  • Identify and suggest enhancements to monitoring tools and automation capabilities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends in NOC management and compliance requirements.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience as a NOC Engineer or in a similar network operations role in AWS.
  • Familiarity with CIS and NIST regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong technical skills in network monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, AppDynamics, PagerDuty, and Splunk).
  • Familiarity with database operations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, with experience in documenting technical issues and reporting.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as AWS Architect Associate, AWS Operations, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent.
  • Experience in regulated industries with strict compliance requirements.
  • Background in working within ITIL frameworks and best practices.
